English for the Industry 4.0 - Part II is the continuation of English for the Industry 4.0 - Part I. It is a course designed for students who want to become familiar with new trends in Robotics, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Advanced Simulation and Cybersecurity as well as continue developing their language skills at an A2-B1 (basic-independent user) level. The reading of academic texts and science related materials are key for professionals to stay updated on advancements made in various productive sectors. This course will provide strategies and tools to understand complex academic texts even if your level of English is not advanced.

Objetivos Especificos

By the end of this course, students are expected to:
-Develop strategies for understanding texts and lectures on academic topics.
-Incorporate vocabulary related to new industries.
-Participate effectively in forums using the vocabulary learned.
-Read complex academic texts, extracting key information from them.
-Developing XXI century skills: Innovation, Critical thinking, Communication, Metacognition, Decision-making.

Tipo de certificado de aprobación

1- Completar el 100% de las tareas ofrecidas en el curso. Ver pestaña FECHAS DE ENTREGA.
2- Alcanzar +70% de aprobación en las actividades (HW).
3- Realizar el 100% de las pruebas (Tests).
IMPORTANTE: Es obligatorio realizar ambos componentes (HW y Tests), ya que ambos son determinantes para elaborar la calificación final del curso.

Docente Encargada de Inglés del Departamento de Lenguas de UTEC. Referente del Programa de Lenguas en el ITR Centrosur. Egresada del Instituto de Profesores Artigas y Traductora Pública. En el momento, se encuentra cursando estudios de Maestría en la Universidad de Nottingham en el programa Digital Technologies for Language Teaching and Learning.

Victoria Soumastre

Docente de educación media en instituciones públicas y privadas desde 2008. Ex-becaria Fulbright. Docente de español como lengua extranjera en EEUU durante 2015-2016. Docente encargada de inglés en el ITR SO (Mercedes y Fray Bentos). De Mercedes, viviendo en Montevideo. Cursando una Maestría en Metodologías Activas de Enseñanza en UCU.
